ABOUT ME

As mentioned above, my name is Cate Harrigan and I hope to become a middle school counselor so I may give guidance and provide resources for those students who either struggle academically, emotionally, mentally, or physically.  My goal is to become a source of strength for each and everyone of my students. I realize that at times it can be difficult to ask for help, therefor I would like to create trustworthy relationships with my students. I also recognize that every individual is going through something different and I believe that as a counselor, it is my responsibility to help provide insight and support.

I am a senior at Blue Valley High School and will being attending the University of Toledo next fall. As well as going to school at BVHS, I also take part in the CAPS Teacher Ed program. Throughout this phenomenal program, I have learned how big of a role school faculty can have on a student's life. It  has taught me that doctors are not the only ones who can help save lives, but that teachers, counselors, and any other faculty members can as well.

At my home high school, I am also involved in several other programs. I am an active member in our National Honors Society, I participate  in youth court, and I am involved in a program which brings seat belt awareness to the students and staff at our school. Over my high school years, I have also played volleyball for BVHS for two years and tennis for one year.
